The best blueprint for love

I Corinthians 13: 4-8, 13

4. Love is patient. Love is kind. Love isn't jealous. It doesn't sing its own praises. It isn't arrogant.

5. It isn't rude. It doesn't think about itself. It isn't irritable. It doesn't keep track of wrongs.

6. It isn't happy when injustice is done, but it is happy with the truth.

7.  Love never stops being patient, never stops believing, never stops hoping, never gives up.

8. Love never comes to an end. . . .

13. So these three things remain: faith, hope, and love. But the best one of these is love.

Does your love have all this???

  1. All true..Maybe we should practice everyday and not just a certain day of the year....
    Thanks for sharing! :)

  2. Dear Ashley:

Love is about sharing, forgiving, accepting and living. Sadly these aspects don't rank high on everyone's list. We should definitely cultivate these lovely traits.

    Thanks for coming by Ashley.

I wish you a swimming Sunday.

  3. You definition of Love is very beautiful and true. I do not believe in the concept of Valentine's day.... Why should there be one particular day to express Love... Love is also a continuous expression which we carry all through the time. Even greeting a perfect stranger with a smile.... That's Love.

  4. Susan, very succintly put. Every religion advocates this and yet people don't realize this simple theory. What a lovely place this earth would be if only everybody practices this!

  5. "Love is about sharing, forgiving, accepting and living." -

This is something that is so difficult to remember. The reminder helps. Thank you. :)

  6. i am far, very far, from the biblical ideal but i do know that as each day passes, i understand His love for me a little more clearly. i pray that this realisation will impact my actions and those affected by those actions.

i realise more clearly everyday that love is not an emotion but a deliberate choice, a verb, an action. a life in motion with God.

  8. Dear Anonymous:

I don't know who you are but your comment definitely brought me joy. Love is definitely a continuous and spontaneous expression. I like the way you have said ". . . which we carry all through the time."

Thanks for taking the time to drop by and leave a line.

    Joy always.

    Dear Govind:

Your comments are always in good taste and I look forward to them. You have rightly said that the world would be a better place if everyone followed what our religious texts say.

    Joy always.

  9. Ashley:

Thanks for coming again. Hugs and joy always.

    JBR:

Any time dear JBR. Blessings and joy to you as well.

    Claire:

May you thoughts and wishes come to pass. Everyday is an experience and we move closer to what is deserved of us. Its a journey and we are getting perfected.

Love is definitely a verb -- towards everyone and most often we fail to acknowledge that fact.

May you find that verb always in action dear Claire.

    Joy always.

  11. "To love and be loved in return" - that's the essence of life. It's hard to define love in words as no word will do it enough justice, but we, people feel it when we love and are being loved, we don't need definitions.

Lovely post dealing with a Love -ly subject.

  12. Dear Susan,

Love is an idea that some can feel with their heart, other see it as an intellectual idea, while many more think they know love.

Love is complex and very valuable. Some search a lifetime and never find it.

    I could go on and on . . .

I started out as an idealist and romantic, then realism got in the way, but now asa I get older, the ideals of youth are coming back again.

    Warmest regards,
    Egmont

  15. Love is based on an unwritten faith and a hope that the hidden settled hope that the faith shall never be disturbed. When beautiful love settles in, we don't worry about the faith or hope but just sink into the feeling of wonderful love.

  16. DUTA:

Absolutely right. Many people are more in love with the 'idea' of love rather than emptying themselves in the whole process.

Thanks for coming by and taking time to drop a line.

    Egmont:

Love is more a verb which expresses itself in different ways. Just seeing that someone is tired and making them a hot cuppa tea is also definitely love. Love is always there, its we who have to unlock it within us.

Thanks for the lovely comment dear Egmont.

    Joy always.

  17. BM:

How nice to see a comment from you. Yes, agape love is found only in God.

    Zuzana:

The weekend was pretty hectic but nice dear beautiful. Lots of love back to you as well.

    Lakshmi Rajan:

Welcome to the meanderings. Lovely to have you aboard. "Unwritten faith": I like that phrase. What a lovely comment about love! I wish everyone goes beyond the 'idea' of being in love to the depth that is so well expressed by you.

Do drop by often and we shall have a meaningful dialogue.

    Joy always.

  19. I don't know if I can answer your final question with exactness or precision, Susan. You see, love is one of the most fluid emotions imaginable. And sometimes we have all these elements, and some days we just don't. But rockhard love remains... through our unhappiness or injustice or wrongdoing. If it doesn't remain, then it isn't true love...

    Perfect post for Valentine's, Susan!

  20. Dear Jenean:

Your words are always like the summer rain which brings joy and fulfillment to the self.

I am glad I found you through this medium.

    Joy and love always.

    Dear Nevine:

True. The final question cannot be answered with exactness but it does help us to ponder over many existential questions about love and related aspects. The very idea of 'true love' cannot be explained. You always provoke me to think through different layers.

Thanks for the kind words dear Nevine :)

    Joy and hugs.

  21. Awareness:

You didn't have to answer that. But nice of you to do so.

  22. What amazes me is the many forms that love can take. No one can survive live without love instilled inside. Even the most cruel and cold has love shaped inside without regard to the evil form it may take.

    ReplyDelete
  23. Well said Mohamed. Love does take many forms but some of the forms seem quite disturbing to me.

Hope you agree on that one.

    Joy always.

  28. good love article.
Love is about sharing, caring, forgiving, accepting and living.it's true.cute verse.but 90% are not true.due to the fake love many (who gives true love) suffered a lot, still suffering.
    ofcourse i too lost my life.it's hell,painfull.
you please keep on giving good articles abt love, hope, truth, care, bible, lord jesus, etc... so that many of them who read this will keep the article in their mind.and they will be true to others..

  29. Thanks for coming by Austin and welcome here.

What you have expressed is quite true. Many a love fails because it has very low tolerance power. I wish that you may find real love.

    Joy always.

  30. susan,happy to see your reply.thanx 4 ur wishes.
practically speaking once we lost the life, its hard to get bacc..

many tells we are true,we never depart..so& so..but 90% are not, they will be having something in their mind.(like crush, lust etc..)

but the one who z true will be affected.
you know something i was struggling in my life for the past 8 yrs,due too this heck love. my drawback is i usually beleive in all.
no one will be like me.im sure.still now it hurts.whenever my parents see me,they cry a lot..atonce my mom starts praying.
but what to do?i lost my life, hope etc..
everyone tells to pray, hold my lord jesus etc.. but if we pray some distraction will come,we can't able to go closly with god...
i can't able to explain you correctly.
now i love to be alone..

last week i saw a article in a web abt lust sin.its fully from bible verse.when i saw ,im so intrested to share it.so i used in my blog.may be many christians are seeking something badly, indirectly.they don't know that will affect the true one.so i publish that.by reading that many will avoid..

what im telling is.you have good writting skills, you keep writing good articles about our daily life.thank uuuuu..
    you just check it
